Don’t forget existing clients

March 18th, 2009 | Tags: , ,

In your enthusiasm to find new clients, those clients that allowed your business to grow and prosper can sometimes be forgotten. However it is important to remember that they are one of your best sources of revenue. If they have bought from you before and like what you supplied or provided, then it is likely that they will want to buy from you again.

So take some time to think about all the ways that you can contact your lapsed clients to let them know about your products and perhaps some new services you have developed.Ideas include

  • E-bulletin with latest news, not just about your company but also about industry issues or stories connected with the type of products and services you supply. If you send it to your customers by email it is much more cost effective and less time consuming than sending a paper based newsletter.
  • Direct mail, we sent out a  chocolate clock to some of our old clients with the headline, “It’s been some time since we were in touch”. And gave them the opportunity to have free marketing review. Remember to create an offer that can only be used by existing clients

The list is endless, have a think what you can do, you never know, that small company you did business with two years ago could now have doubled in size. It really is important to keep in touch.
